First Trimester

 First Trimester Essentials

Maternity Bras

These are perfect! During the first trimester the girls are tender and it's best to give them room to grow. Remember to go a size up! I still use these while nursing and they are my favourites!

Ovia Pregnancy App

This is the best pregnancy companion app! You can attach photos, calendar doctor appointments, record milestones and see how your little one is growing. Helpful articles are shown to you every day and videos that will ease your mind.

Fear Free Childbirth Podcast

This podcast is so amazing! Alexia explains everything from conception to breastfeeding. She has experts and mothers come onto her show. I absolutely love hearing the birth stories and postpartum stories.

Prenatal Vitamins

It is recommended to start taking them 3 months before you conceive and as soon as you find out your pregnant and up to the birth. I used this brand throughout my pregnancy and it did the job! And with Omega 3, it's better to get it through a natural source like fish twice a week.

Week By Week Book

This is the only book you need throughout pregnancy! It is like THE ultimate textbook to pregnancy. It tells you in detail what is developing that week for your baby and the chapters are full of advice! Also, she explains all the medical terms you might hear.

Birthful Podcast

I started listening to this podcast knowing nothing about birth and babies and I finished feeling like an expert! I love every single episode because they are packed with so much information. All your questions will be answered here!

Water Bottle

Drinking water is SO important! It literally saved me from having any symptoms. Drink all day long even if you have to pee all the time. It's recommended to have 2 litres a day, so two of these water bottles. I just love the motivation written on them!

Nutrition Book

Not too long and very practical! She goes step by step through all the vitamins and minerals and gives you exact numbers and food source. There are also tons of recipes and yoga suggestions in the last two chapters. I also made a blog post with my favourite pregnancy snacks!

Second Trimester

 Second Trimester Essentials

Knee Pillow

The bigger your baby gets the more they'll get on your nerves! No I mean it... your nerves will be squished by your little one. This pillow is the perfect thickness and softness to help you out at night. I had terrible sciatica pain and having a thick pillow is a lifesaver! Also, if the pain doesn't stop just take a small walk around the bedroom.

Maternity Yoga Pants

I'd grab 2 or more pair of these! Being comfy at home is so important. Well, by the end of pregnancy these are all you will be wearing! They are thick so they kept me warm during the winter.

Maternity T-Shirts

These simple tops are brilliant! They are casual and beautiful. They were great for wearing around the house and going out.

Maternity Dress

This dress is also one of my favourites during pregnancy. It's so easy to put on and light enough for a summer day. It shows off the bump brilliantly!

Back Wedge Pillow

I don't know about you but I love to sleep on my back, front and right side. But it's recommended you sleep on our left side... this wedge saved me from rolling over onto my back every night. A huge pregnancy pillow was not an option because of space. But really this is all that's needed! Highly recommended!

Maternity Underwear

Even before you start having a bump from the baby you might get bloating. I recommend you get these as early as you can in this trimester. At least 3 packs of these are ideal because spotting is common. These can also be used for postpartum.

Maternity Jeans

I got mine pretty early on. I personally like to try on my jeans before buying them and the best place I found was H&M. For tops, again I bought them all at H&M. And for jumpers, I just wore my husband's.

Maternity Hoodie

This hoodie was perfect for my growing bump! But I loved it so much because I was able to use it for nursing as well!  It has a detachable strap so when you are nursing you have easy access and you are nice and warm.

Winter Coat

What I love about this coat is that it is for pregnancy and babywearing. I love that the price for this is twice as low as what you will find in stores. It will keep you and baby warm during pregnancy and after.

Folding Fan

Heat waves will hit you, night and day. I loved having a folding fan with me wherever I went because I almost always was feeling hot starting at the end of the first trimester. This fan makes such a lovely breeze.

Maternity Tights

Shaving becomes annoying in pregnancy either because your skin becomes too sensitive or your bump gets in the way. Tights saved me from having to shave too often and the stretchy top is perfect as your bump grows. It's also nice postpartum so you have a little extra room.

Maternity Top

It's so important to feel beautiful when you are pregnant! You will start gaining weight and looking very different. These tops make you look beautiful and the bump as well.

Maxi Dress

This was my favourite dress to wear when I was pregnant! It highlighted the bump beautifully!

Stretch Mark Oil

From the start of the second trimester, I started using this and rubbed it in twice a day while singing to baby. I don't have any stretch marks on my tummy. My only regret is not rubbing it on my breast because I did get marks there.

 Third Trimester Essentials

Third Trimester

Maternity Top

It's so important to feel beautiful when you are pregnant! You will start gaining weight and looking very different. These tops make you look beautiful and the bump as well. Why not celebrate your third trimester with some new clothes?

Gel Pack

Towards the end of the second trimester, your bump is getting a lot heavier and putting a strain on your back and shoulders. This gel pack was perfect to relax those spots. Great to use during labour as well!

Hospital Bag

This backpack is beautiful and practical! It has tons of space inside for just about everything. This can be used for the hospital and later to carry all your baby essentials. To see what to pack for the hospital go to the Birth Page!

Maternity Dress

Simple but beautiful! This dress not only comes in many different colours but it can be worn while nursing! So serves two purposes in the end.

Compression Socks

When travelling by plane while pregnant it's recommended that you wear compression socks to help your circulation. Also, if you are swollen it will help decrease it. If you plan on walking a lot then make sure to wear some to prevent further swelling.

Childbirth Without Fear

Dick-Read is phenomenal! He was among the first who really looked at the physiology of birth and realised the role fear can play. Every chapter is filled with so much knowledge. He truly helped me understand how I could have a pain-free birth.

Maternity Dress

I still wear this one today! My favourite is the grey floral. This dress is brilliant for nursing after giving birth. I love how it fits!

Birthing Ball

A lot cheaper than most and does the job! I got mine during the second trimester because I loved doing yoga with it. But it is a MUST in the third. I used it while working instead of a chair. It's great for helping position your baby, during labour and helps baby sleep after birth! Make sure to get 65cm if you are under 5'11 or 75cm if you are over.

HypnoBirthing

There are so many hypnobirthing books out there but Marie Mongan is the original creator of hypnobirthing. This book is the BEST companion during birth with guided hypnosis and loads of suggestions during labour.
